Community Guidelines
Tagg is a place to keep, rate and talk about what you watch, read and play. These guidelines apply to everything on Tagg: profiles, handles, reviews, comments, collections, links, images and stickers. They form part of our Terms of Service.

The idea
Strong opinions are welcome. A one-star review of a much-loved film, a long defence of an unpopular game or a blunt reply to a review are all part of Tagg. What is not welcome is turning disagreement into an attack on someone, or using Tagg to harm people.
These guidelines describe what we expect and what we act on. They cannot list every situation, so we also consider context and intent. If something is clearly harmful, it does not need to be listed here for us to remove it.
Respect people
- Harassment and bullying. Do not target, insult, demean or intimidate anyone, or encourage others to do so. That includes repeated unwanted replies, mocking someone’s appearance, and following someone across Tagg to pile on.
- Hate. Do not attack or dehumanise people because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or serious illness. Do not insult or mock religions, sacred figures or beliefs, and do not use slurs or hateful symbols.
- Threats and violence. Do not threaten, wish harm on, or encourage violence against anyone, including as a joke.
- Self-harm. Do not encourage or give instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. Talking about how a work treats these subjects is fine. If you are struggling, please contact local emergency services or someone you trust.
Keep Tagg safe
- Child safety. We have zero tolerance for any content that sexualises minors, including drawn, animated or generated material, and for any attempt to groom, exploit or contact a minor for sexual purposes. We remove it, close the account and report it to the competent authorities.
- Sexual content. Do not upload sexually explicit or pornographic images, or share intimate images of anyone without their consent. Writing about sexual themes in a film, book or game is fine when it is part of discussing the work.
- Graphic content. Do not upload images of real gore, serious injury or death. Discussing violence in a work is fine.
- Extremism. Do not support, promote or represent terrorist or violent extremist groups, or celebrate their attacks.
- Dangerous and illegal activity. Do not use Tagg to sell or promote illegal drugs, weapons, gambling or other illegal goods and services, or to encourage dangerous acts.
Protect privacy
- Do not share anyone’s private information, such as a home address, phone number, private email, identity documents, financial details or private messages, even if it is available elsewhere.
- Do not post photos or videos of other people without their permission.
- Do not reveal or speculate about the real identity behind someone’s account.
- Do not use Tagg to stalk, track or monitor anyone.
Be authentic
- Impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, a brand, a studio, a publisher or Tagg staff. Parody or fan accounts must say so clearly in the profile.
- Genuine reviews. Rate and review works you have actually watched, read or played, in your own words. Do not post reviews you were paid or rewarded for without saying so, review your own work without disclosing it, or join campaigns to push a title’s rating up or down.
- Real engagement. Do not buy, sell or trade likes, follows, views or reviews, or use bots, scripts or multiple accounts to inflate them.
- Spam and scams. Do not post repetitive or unsolicited promotion, misleading links, phishing, malware or schemes to get money or account details from people.
Mark your spoilers
Turn on the spoiler setting for any review or comment that reveals important plot points, twists or endings, particularly for recent releases. Spoiler-marked text stays hidden until someone chooses to reveal it.
Headlines, collection names and descriptions, profile notes and handles are always visible, so keep them spoiler-free. We may mark content as a spoiler or hide it if it is not marked.
Respect creators
Share only content you made or have permission to use. Quoting a short passage or line to make a point in a review is fine. Uploading full works, reposting someone else’s review as your own, and linking to pirated films, books, games or cracks are not. See the Copyright Policy for how rights holders can report content.
Profiles, uploads and handles
Profile pictures, banners, custom covers, stickers, handles, display names, notes, bios and links must follow these guidelines like everything else. In particular, they must not contain nudity, gore, hateful symbols, other people’s faces without permission, or anything that suggests an official connection with Tagg or another brand. Links must not lead to content that breaks these guidelines.
Follow the law
Do not post anything that is illegal where you live. Tag Interactive is based in the United Arab Emirates and must comply with its laws, so we also act on content that is unlawful there, such as defamation, content that insults religions, deliberately false information that could harm the public, and invasions of privacy.
How we keep Tagg safe
Tagg has no private messaging, new profiles are visible to Friends only, and every member can block others, choose who sees what they post and turn comments off on their own reviews.
Members under 18 can use Tagg with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. Pornography, and content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders, are prohibited for everyone, and adult titles are filtered out of the catalogue.
When we become aware of illegal content, we remove it quickly. A person reviews every report, and the most serious ones, such as child sexual abuse material, grooming and credible threats of violence, are dealt with first and reported to the competent authorities.
Tagg does not currently use automated tools to detect illegal or harmful content. If we start to, we will say so here.
Reporting and blocking
- Report a review, comment, profile, collection or title from its menu. Reports are confidential: we do not tell the member who reported them.
- Block a member from their profile menu. A block removes any connection between you, and neither of you can see or interact with the other’s profile and content.
- Email support@tagg.lol about anything else, including problems that cannot be reported from a menu.
Tagg is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. In the UAE, call 999.
What happens when guidelines are broken
We review reports and may also find content ourselves. Depending on how serious the issue is, whether it seems intentional and the account’s history, we may:
- remove the content, hide it, or mark it as a spoiler;
- send a warning;
- limit features such as publishing, commenting, uploading, sending friend requests or appearing in discovery;
- suspend the account for a period;
- permanently close the account.
Some violations lead straight to a permanent ban, including content that sexualises minors, credible threats of violence, support for terrorism and attempts to get around an earlier ban. When we take action we usually tell you which guideline was involved, unless doing so would put someone at risk or the law prevents it.
Complaints
You can complain to us about:
- content you believe is illegal or harmful to children;
- how we handled a report you made;
- the removal or restriction of your content or account, as described under Appeals;
- an age check, if we ask you to confirm your age;
- any other way in which you think we are not meeting our duties to keep Tagg safe, including under the UK Online Safety Act.
Report content from its menu in Tagg, or write to support@tagg.lol with “Complaint” in the subject line. We acknowledge every complaint and tell you roughly how long it will take, and a person reviews it. In the UK you can also tell Ofcom, the online safety regulator, although it does not resolve individual complaints.
Appeals
If you think we made a mistake, write to support@tagg.lol from the email address on your account within six months. Tell us which content or decision you mean and why you think it was wrong. A person will review it, and we will let you know the outcome.
Changes
We update these guidelines as Tagg and our community change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes are announced in Tagg.
